Dear Wagyu Breeders,

We would like to remind all breeders of the importance of keeping animals within the Certified Wagyu Beef (CWB) value chain to ensure that the beef produced can eventually be marketed and sold as Certified Wagyu Beef.

If animals are sold commercially to a non-registered breeder, they leave the CWB value chain and are no longer eligible for CWB certification. To prevent this and maintain the integrity of the value chain, we kindly ask that all breeders notify the office when selling animals, particularly when selling to the emerging sector. This information will not only help maintain the value chain but will also assist the society in recruiting new emerging farmers and registering them on the KyD program.

Your cooperation in this matter is vital for the continued success and growth of Wagyu in South Africa.
